Food Packaging Warehouse Sponsors Golf Outing with Celebrity Guests Benefiting Local Families

The gathering of golfers, company sponsors and famous Chicago athletes produced a winning event in the 2nd Annual Good Shepherd Center Golf Tournament on June 18 at the Ravisloe Country Club.

Observing the heartening show of support for Illinois families, Packaging Resources Inc. President Jeff Lukas took note of the atmosphere and impact of the event. "Everyone had a great time, we all saw how participation is so necessary for Good Shepherd's mission," Lukas said. "Having the help of Chicago Bears was a great addition to the day."

Participants of the all-day event could meet and greet with Chicago Bears Steve "Mongo" McMichael and Doug Buffone. Buffet, silent and live auctions were also part of the agenda that aided the many services of GPC.

The center, founded in 1963 and located in Hazel Crest, IL, supplies a unique combination of assistance to children with special needs and their loved ones to grow and thrive. The professionals at GPC specialize in services ranging from occupational therapy, physical, speech and developmental therapy and nutritional counseling. Early intervention and assistance is a key objective of their work.

100% of all proceeds will benefit Good Shepherd Center for Exceptional Children, said Cheryl Assise coordinator at GPC. Assise reflected on the two years of people's support and sponsorship at the golf outing. "We had a wonderful time last year that was very well organized. The sport celebrities are very interactive and entertaining. It is simply beautiful a setting and it's a great cause."
